As a part of our Assurent – Valuations team, you will help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital requirements, intangibles and other assets.
Opportunity
We are looking for Senior Analyst with expertise in Business Valuations to join Assurent – Valuations Team. Seeking for talented and team-oriented individuals with strong interpersonal skills who can develop their career through a broad scope of engagements, mentoring, and learning & development.
Key Responsibilities
Perform valuations for management planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax and financial reporting and shareholder disputes.
- Review the information and the data required to perform the valuation.
- Identify issues and propose strategies related to the procedures executed.
- Perform in-depth industry, market, and competitor research and valuation analysis on a wide range of public and private entities using all accepted financial approaches and theory.
- Review and contribute to the detailed financial modelling and report generation to ensure the quality of the product.
- Engage and the lead the client conference calls and technical discussions internally.
- Responsible for executing engagements under the supervision of seniors.
- Develop, train and mentor team members at the staff level.
- Ability to manage a team of professionals.
- Direct the progress of engagement work, inform supervisors of the engagement status, and manage staff performance.
- Continually acquire and develop knowledge for own and team’s learning. Use technology to learn, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.
Skills and attributes for success
- Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
- Experience in 409a, BEVs, PPA or Equity Research, Investment Banking and Corporate Finance.
- Exposure to databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.
Qualifications
- A master’s or post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 2-3 years of related work experience.
- A direct experience in utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc. within a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities.
- Experience in financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, written, and presentation skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and stay organized.
- Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification.
